A FLOWER IN A DARK ROOM

Losing the light and the battle of light over darkness are the theme of these images.

From the Chelsea twilight that forms the backdrop for the burlesque dancer. Through to the seedy Soho neon and on to the decadant gloom of the Gasworks Restaurant formerly named Bucket of Blood.

The poems work synergetically to thread the work into one piece.

The subject of each image calls out for recognition. Each image has a rebus. The viewer must search for the meaning aided by the riddles in the poetry.

The eerie thing about this triptych is that the poems were composed independent of images yet the correspondents marry up and form a trinity.
